City Boy by A. E. Wasp

I just finished reading the first book in the Hot Off the Ice series by A. E. Wasp, City Boy, and what a sweet tale it is!

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Written in third person POV, City Boy is told from the perspectives of our two main characters, Bryce and Dakota. It is a May/December Gay Romance, as well as a Sports Romance with Bryce being a hockey player. There's not a lot of game talk, but enough so that the Sports Romance genre works. This one is also quite steamy, so I'd certainly recommend 18+.

Blurb: Follow the money or follow your heart? Either way, you lose.
When a blown tire leads directly to mind-blowing sex with a white knight named Dakota, pro-hockey player Bryce Lowery discovers he is most definitely gay.
Being with Dakota opens up a whole new world. Bryce can’t imagine life without him. But he refuses to be Bryce's dirty little secret. If he wants to keep Dakota, he’s either going to have to come out publicly or retire and walk away from millions of dollars.
Bryce Lowery feels like the answer to all of Dakota’s prayers. But is Dakota willing to leave the only life he’s ever known only to be thrust into the spotlight as the boyfriend of the first out gay hockey player? Would their relationship even survive it?
He’ll lose Bryce if doesn’t because Bryce will leave eventually. No one would turn down millions of dollars for a nobody with nothing.

I love a good May/December romance and this one certainly fits the bill. It does have a bit of a twist with Bryce, the December part of this pair, being almost innocent in what he knows about matters of the heart and figuring out who and what he wants. Dakota has his own issues, but his revolve more around family and learning to trust.

With some witty and often humorous dialogue, along with some silly situations with Bryce's family, these two embark of a journey of discovery, along with lots of steam as Bryce and Dakota explore their feelings of lust and love. City Boy is not just a romance, it's a story of self-discovery, learning to trust, family, and finding that special someone to share your dreams with.

Overall, it's a good, solid start to a series and I can't wait to see what's next.

City Boy is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited.

Thanks for joining me! My next read is another romance - lots of squishy feelings going on here!

Kiko by Becca Fanning

I love Becca's bears and I'm a bit like a kid in a candy store when she releases a new book. Needless to say, I was thrilled to crack open Kiko, the newest addition to her MC Bear Mates series.

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kiko is well-written in third person POV and is the third book in the continuing story of the Nomads MC. It fits well into the Paranormal Romance genre with its sexy bear shifters and their chosen mates. It's not over the top steamy, but there is some sexy. And check out that cover! I always love Fanning's covers!

Blurb: A girl on the run finds the leather-clad Bear Shifter badass she's always needed.
Kiko had thought he'd seen everything, but when the parade of young ladies came streaming out of the shipping container, their hair stuck to their scalps and reeking of God-knows-what, he felt sick to his stomach. He knew it was stupid to draw the line here after years of using violence and force like most people use language. But the line was drawn, and he knew he wouldn't cross this one. Now these women were under the protection of The Nomads, and the Ukrainian Mob would be in for a very bloody fight if they thought they could force these women to do anything. And there was one who was something special...

As stated, Kiko is part of an ongoing series about the Nomads MC. The politics and conflict within the MC heat up in this one with the leaders trying to legitimize business while some work to create dissension.

As if that's not enough to deal with, council member, Kiko and his fated mate, Mischa have their own issues to work through. Both Kiko and Mischa have lived through some truly horrendous ordeals before ever finding each other. Of course, the human Mischa isn't as easy to trust in the mating bond and Kiko's patience with her is absolutely touching. Mischa's story is not for the faint of heart and watching her growth throughout this story was quite heartwarming.

The beauty of an ongoing series is getting to revisit with past characters that have found a place in my heart and the MC Bear Mates certainly delivers. This third book in the series ends with a bit of a bang, leaving me anxious for the next one.

Kiko is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited. You can also find the rest of the series, as well as all of this author's books on Becca Fanning's Amazon Author Page. (You might even find a couple of freebies!)

Thanks for joining me! I have a May/December romance for my next read!

Bring Her Home by David Bell

I'm always on the lookout for a good suspense or thriller and I found both in David Bell's upcoming release, Bring Her Home.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bring Her Home is well-written in third person POV with the story being told from the perspective of the main character, Bill Price. It fits nicely into the Suspense and Thriller genres with it's many plot twists and edge of your seat story line. While I found nothing that would be inappropriate for younger audiences, the subject matter is often disturbing. I, personally, wouldn't let my younger teen read this one.

*Advanced reader copy supplied by NetGalley

Blurb: Just a year and a half after the tragic death of his wife, Bill Price’s fifteen-year-old daughter, Summer, and her best friend, Haley, disappear. Days later, the girls are found in a city park. Haley is dead at the scene, while Summer is left beaten beyond recognition and clinging to life.
As Bill holds vigil over Summer’s bandaged body, the only sound the unconscious girl can make is one cryptic and chilling word: No. And the more time Bill spends with Summer, the more he wonders what happened to her. Or if the injured girl in the hospital bed is really his daughter at all.
When troubling new questions about Summer’s life surface, Bill is not prepared for the aftershocks. He’ll soon discover that both the living and the dead have secrets. And that searching for the truth will tear open old wounds that pierce straight to the heart of his family...

Being a Small Town, Kentucky girl and finding out that this one is set in Kentucky, I was excited about reading it. I wasn't disappointed. The characters are interesting and plain-spoken, the way many of us small town folk can be, and the story is full of twists to keep you on your toes.

Bill Price is an angry guy. His temper flares quick and often, but given the circumstances, it's understandable. He's also a compelling character. Bill's story takes us on a journey of loss, suspicion, grief, terror, and even hope as past mistakes haunt him and almost everyone is a suspect in his frantic search for answers.

The book is lengthy, but it's not at all easy to put down. This is one of those stories where you sit down with the intention of reading one or two chapters and look up to find that you've read ten! The story flow and plot is that good. There are a few things in the story that are a bit unrealistic, but it is fiction, after all, and it all works to keep the suspense flowing.

Overall, Bring Her Home is a gripping thriller, packed with suspenseful plot twists, and a book that I have no problem recommending.

Bring Her Home releases on July 11, 2017 and is available for pre-order at the following links.

Just Hanging Out by Lillian Francis

I read Lillian Francis' new book, Just Hanging Out while having my coffee this morning. I'm not a morning person, so this feel-good, quick read was perfect for getting me out of my morning grump.😒😊

Momma Says 4 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just Hanging Out is well-written in first person POV with the story being told entirely from main character, Shawn's perspective. It is MM and fits well into the Romance and LGBT genres. There is a bit of steam, so I would recommend 18+.

Just Hanging Out is a quick, feel-good read. It's only about an hour's read time, which is perfect for a lunch or afternoon read. The characters are interesting and the story is lighthearted and very low on drama, making for an enjoyable story.

This office crush romance is witty and often humorous. Main character, Shawn has a crush on his co-worker and his daydreaming gets him into some uncomfortable and funny situations. The only drawback for me is that I would've liked to know more about the characters, but considering the length of the book and its premise, it all came together very well, leaving me with a smile.😊

Just Hanging Out is available at the following links and it's one that I recommend for anyone who enjoys the genre.

Seventh Heaven by Mary Abshire

Holy Moly! I just finished the final book in Mary Abshire's Heaven Sent series and I still don't know whether to smile or cry - maybe both! 😢😊

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Seventh Heaven is well-written in third person POV. It fits well into the Paranormal Romance and Suspense genres. This is the seventh and final book in the Heaven Sent series and while Abshire does give a bit of recap along the way, I would highly recommend reading from the beginning. (you won't be disappointed) It does have it's fair share of steam, so certainly an 18+ recommendation. And just look at that cover! I think this is my favorite one from this series!

I'll admit that I started this book with some trepidation and a bit of dread. Through the course of this series, I've come to love Andrew, Emily, and of course, Matt. The premise of the series is Andrew is sent back to Earth due to his promiscuity and has a set amount of time to destroy demons. Considering that premise and the fact that his time was running out, I was worried about what would happen to this couple, thus the trepidation. The dread came with knowing I would have have to say goodbye to these great characters.

I don't cry easily and it's not that often that a book gets to me like this one did. The emotions were all over the place - I smiled as some truly sweet moments, I cried like big ol' baby more than once - some happy tears and some not so happy - I got mad, and a couple of time I cried while I was mad. Maybe I just needed a good cry, but this one really got me going.

I've said more than once through the course of this series that I was sure this book or that one was the best one yet, (typically every one as it came out - it just got better and better) and I truly loved the whole series, but Seventh Heaven absolutely surpassed my expectations. It's obvious that the author poured her heart into this one and the end result was just perfect.

To sum it up in one sentence, I would have to say - superb story, great characters, perfect ending!

Seventh Heaven is available for purchase on Amazon and should be coming to other sites soon (seems they're a bit behind😕)

The King by Skye Warren

I've been meaning to read Skye Warren's Endgame trilogy and just haven't had a chance to fit it in. After reading The King, I will certainly be finding the time! The King is the first book in the Masterpiece duet and a spin-off from the Endgame trilogy.

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The King is beautifully written in first person POV and is told from the perspective of main character, Penny. It's hard to pick a definite genre for this one. Considering Penny's age, it's not really a romance, but it is very dark and almost fairy-tale like. It also fits into the Suspense genre. There are definitely some disturbing, adult situations, so I would recommend 18+. While the cover doesn't really tell you much about the story, once you've read it, you realize that it certainly fits this tale.

*I received an advanced reader copy of this book through Dreams and Screams Bookaholics

Penny's story is one of loss, love of family, loyalty, betrayal, poverty, finding a friend in the strangest of places, and even a bit of hope. Her childhood is heartbreaking as she practically raises herself, and then as she enters her mid-teens, it becomes absolutely horrifying. For those with triggers, there are some truly disturbing things mentioned in this one. Just an FYI, Penny's ordeal isn't played out on the page in detail, but you get enough later to know what she's gone through.

Warren's talent shines in this one as she takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride in which Penny and Damon are prominent. Damon, while certainly not a good guy, shows that he can be protective and even loyal, and you can't help but love him.

This gripping tale sucked me in from the very first page and still hasn't let go. While Penny and Damon's story didn't exactly come to a conclusion, it's not a horrible cliffhanger either, and I will be anxiously awaiting the rest of their story!

The King is available for purchase and you can find it at the following links.

All For Show by Rachel Kane

Well, I was looking for something happy and I found it in Rachel Kane's new release, All For Show.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

All For Show is very well-written in first person, dual POV. It is MM, so certainly fits into the LGBT Romance genre. Once things heat up between our two main characters, it gets very steamy, so I recommend 18+. Now for the gorgeous cover!

Kane gives us a fake boyfriend romance with this one and what a romance it is. I'll admit that in the beginning, I wasn't sure how well these characters would mesh. Nat is introverted and doesn't seem to have much experience in dealing with people while Owen comes across as much more outgoing. Saying too much about this would give spoilers, so I'll just say that appearances are often deceiving and this pair certainly surprised me.

There are some emotional subjects discussed throughout the book, such as depression, low self-esteem, and breaking away from a manipulative, controlling ex. It's not all serious though, and there are some hilarious, laugh out loud moments. I particularly loved the phone conversation that Nat has with his dad!

The story is about a fake romance that is only supposed to last a few days. Of course, the attraction between Nat and Owen make it all too real and then the fireworks begin. It's a story filled with friendship, attraction, love, some truly witty dialogue, a sweet dog, finding that special person to show you just how important you are, and just the right amount of drama to keep things rolling. And in the end, it left me smiling.😀

All For Show is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited. Check out Rachel Kane's Amazon Author Page for all of her books.

Thanks for joining me! I have another romance loaded on my Kindle (guess I'm in a loving mood!)

Who is Rich? by Matthew Klam

So, my plan was to read a murder mystery, but my copy had some technical issues, or maybe I had some technical issues😕, could be either one. Anyway, until I get a readable copy downloaded, I decided to try to finish up one I have been reading off and on for several days now. I did finally finish Matthew Klam's Who is Rich?, but it took a bit longer than I had hoped.

Momma Says 2 out 5 stars⭐⭐

Who is Rich? is very well written in first person POV and Klam's storytelling is often quite compelling. The book is listed as General Fiction and fits well into that genre and it is considered a Satire. However, I've typically found Satire's to be quite humorous and I found little in the way of humor in this one. There are illustrations throughout, which is nice touch, considering the career of the main character.

As I said, Klam's writing is compelling, but his character in Who is Rich? is not. In the beginning of this story, I found a character who is unhappy with his life and seriously whiny. I pushed through, hoping that his life would improve, but found only more whining and complaining.

Rich is a graphic novelist whose only book is now out of print. He seems quite unwilling to accept the fact that his small piece of fame may be over and he's broke and unhappy with his life. Instead of trying to do something to improve his situation, he's petulant, jealous of other's success, petty, self-absorbed, judgmental, indecisive, and when he does manage to make a decision, it's usually the wrong one, which cycles right back to being petulant and miserable.

While I don't agree with infidelity, it happens and I can read about it without being offended. However, in Rich's case, he waffles back and forth so often between his wife and mistress that I ended up not caring which way he went. In all honesty, I found both his wife and mistress to be as sad and unlikable as Rich, himself.

In the end, the incessant complaining and pathetic inner dialogue of Rich became so tedious that I really didn't care who Rich is and just wanted to finish the dang book, which left me a bit melancholy in the end.

Considering the author's writing style, I would consider reading another book by him, but this one just wasn't for me. So, that's just my 2¢ worth, so take it for what it's worth. 😏

Who is Rich? releases on July 4th and is currently available for pre-order at the following links.

Who is Rich? on Barnes & Noble

Thanks for joining me! Now on to something happy (I hope!)

Sixth Surprise by Mary Abshire

I went for a bit of the Paranormal for my latest read with Mary Abshire's Sixth Surprise. As a fan of this author, there was no surprise that I enjoyed the book!

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sixth Surprise is written in third person POV and if you read this series, you already know it's a continuing story. It fits well into the Paranormal Romance genre, as well as the Mystery & Suspense categories. The steam level has gradually increased throughout the series and there are adult situations, so certainly 18+ recommendation. Each book has our characters searching for a different demon and Abshire always gives us a hint on the cover as to the demon's profession. Can you guess this one?

It's been a crazy few months for Andrew and Emily, running around the country to find and kill demons. With things heating up between them, Andrew was hoping for a bit of one on one time and to be able to enjoy just being together. Of course, that's when a new player in the game shows up to mess things up for our couple.

Steven is arrogant and sure of himself, and not at all what you'd expect as an emissary from Heaven. With his bad boy ways and bit of a British accent, he's actually a character I would've liked if it weren't for his reason for being there. (You'll have to read the book to find that out😉)

So far, in the Heaven Sent series, we've had demons from across the board - everything from a nurse, to a lawyer, and even a policeman. This sixth demon, is the creepiest one yet, in my opinion. We don't get a lot of concrete details on what he's done, but considering who he is and the hints along the way, it adds to creep factor.

Of course, things get complicated and it's a race to destroy the demon and get Steven out of their lives. With some twists along the way, things may not work out exactly as Andrew and Emily plan. (You'll have to read the book to find out what those twists are too!)

Overall, Sixth Surprise is a fast-paced, exciting read. If you haven't read the series, Abshire does give a small amount of recap and you can easily follow what's going on in this book. However, I would strongly recommend reading this series from the start. Andrew and Emily's adventures are exciting and gripping from the very beginning and you don't want to miss any of it.

Royal Beast by Nikki Chase

I love fairy tales and Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite, so I couldn't wait to crack open this modern day retelling by Nikki Chase. What I found was dark and twisted and oh, so steamy!

Momma Says 4 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Royal Beast is well-written in first person, dual POV. True-to-form, Chase gives us some great characters and witty dialogue. The book is certainly a Steamy Romance with a Dominant/Submissive story line, so it also falls into the 18+ category. Now, for the cover! I just love this one. Doesn't he fit the grumpy and so sexy beast perfectly?

This is not the fairy-tale your momma used to tell you! At least, I hope not!😉 Nikki Chase gives a dark, steamy retelling of the classic, set in modern day with pesky news media attention.

James is every bit the beast with his overbearing, dominance and heart of gold underneath it all. Rosemary is sweet and innocent, and the perfect submissive for him, at least in the bedroom. I loved the dialogue between this couple, especially when James so often found himself on the wrong side of the dom/sub side of the conversation.

While it is a dom/sub relationship and there are some pretty strong scenes mentioned, the scenes between this couple are lighter. They are still steamy - like fan yourself steamy - but it's more BDSM light, so it's not completely over the top.

Overall, we get a modern day telling of the fairy tale (including the chipped tea cup!) with plenty of steam, a beast of a man hidden away from public eye, an innocent girl who may be just what he needs, an evil queen, and two sisters who make Cinderella's stepsisters look angelic. If you like fairy tales and dark romance, I highly recommend that you check this one out - it's a great combination of both.

Royal Beast is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited.

Thanks for joining me! I have a bit of the paranormal up next.

Dirty Dark Deceit by Lacey Alpha

Holy Moly! When Lacey Alpha says Bad Boy, she's not fooling around. Her newest release, Dirty Dark Deceit, is everything it claims and more.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dirty Dark Deceit is well-written in first person, multi POV. It fits well into the Dark Romance or Bad Boy Romance genres, but it also falls into the Mystery, and Erotica genres. The steam level if off the charts, so most definitely 18+. Take a look at that cover! Can you guess what this bad boy is up to?

Logan is everything you'd expect a bad boy to be. He's arrogant, bossy, crude, wants no strings, and a criminal! And I absolutely loved him! He does have a secret that keeps a reader guessing through most of the book. I thought I had an inkling, but it was so much more than what I expected.

As with any bad boy, there's always a woman that seems tailor made to tame his wicked ways, and Darcy fills that bill. Hell bent on never falling in love again, she seems like the perfect match for Logan - maybe in more ways than one.

Dirty Dark Deceit is a roller coaster ride of a quest for revenge, lust, loss, love, hate, lots of steam, and even a bit of hope. It's dark and gritty and kept this reader turning the pages.

Dirty Dark Deceit is available on Amazon and it is listed in Kindle Unlimited. If you enjoy Dark Romance, check this one out. It is well worth the read!

Thanks for joining me! I think I have another steamy read coming up! Hopefully, my heart can take it!😳

Lip Locks & Blocked Shots by Heather C. Myers

My old "friend" insomnia didn't visit last night, so I was able to catch some much needed zzz's. Probably too many, considering I woke up feeling entirely too awake this morning.😲 So, I grabbed a cup of coffee (a food group around here) and my advanced reader copy of Heather Myers' upcoming release, Lip Locks & Blocked Shots. My intention was to enjoy my coffee and read a few chapters before getting some housework done. However, those plans didn't come to fruition, as so often happens with plans.

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lip Locks & Blocked Shots is wonderfully written in third person POV, the characters are so well developed that they practically leap off the page, and the whole story is so interesting that I couldn't put it down. It fits nicely into the Sports Romance genre and while there isn't a lot of game play in this one, we do get the inner workings and politics of the team, which I found just as interesting. The steam level is high and there are adult situations, so certainly 18+ recommended. Now, for the cover! I just love the covers for this series!

By now, most of you know how I feel about labeling a book as something and not actually having any details in the story. Doesn't matter what label that is - if it's a "Bad Boy" romance, make sure that character is a bad boy, if it's a sports romance, include something of that sport in the dang book. I'm sure you see where I'm going here. That is not a problem with this series! Kudos to Myers for having some actual game play throughout this series. We don't get much of that in this book, but we do get the inner workings and politics of the team - pretty fitting as the main character is the owner.

On that note, I'm going to share a little secret. I don't watch hockey - at all. Actually, I don't watch or know much about most sports. (Gasp!😳) But, I do like books and movies about various sports. I know, makes no sense, right? I don't understand it either! With Myers' Slapshot Series, we do get some actual game play, but it's done in such a way that even I could understand what was going on and was able to enjoy it. In fact, I found myself interested enough that I may watch a game!

On that note, I'll get on with my review of this book! I've been waiting for this one since I read the first book in this series! Seraphina, owner of the Gulls, finally gets her turn!

Sera has been the do everything by the book, judged because she's a woman, worried about public image owner throughout this series. I've been waiting for her to get the chance to come out of her shell and Heather Myers didn't disappoint. Brandon and Seraphina are so good together and compliment each other so well.

Overall, this third book in the Slapshot Series is a fun story with some great characters, some fan yourself sexy, an antagonist that truly deserves a punch in the mouth, and a couple that you can't help but root for. I mentioned earlier that my housework plans didn't come to fruition. That's because once I started reading, I could not put this one down! I loved every single word! Because I loved it so much, I won't even blame this talented author for my lazy day and insist that she come do my dusting!😜

Lip Locks & Blocked Shots is part of the Slapshot Series, but would work fine as a standalone. However, I would strongly recommend reading the whole series. There are so many great characters that you don't want to miss. Besides, the beauty of a series like this one is getting to see those beloved characters throughout the series. FYI - Negan is still my favorite! And no, I'm not telling you who Negan is, you'll have to read the series to find out! 😀

You can find the entire Slapshot Series on Heather Myers' Amazon Author Page. And Lip Locks & Blocked Shots is currently on pre-order and set for release tomorrow, June 23rd. It will also be listed on Kindle Unlimited. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for joining me! Time to get dinner going so my crazies don't revolt!

Living Wild by Odin Nightshade

It was a long day here in Crazyville, so this evening, I curled up in my chair with a glass of wine and Odin Nightshade's latest addition to the Omega Date Diaries series, Living Wild. I've come to count on Nightshade for a fun read that I can get immersed in and this one didn't disappoint. And don't you just love that name - Odin Nightshade! Everybody should have such a cool name!

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Living Wild is well-written in third person POV. It certainly fits well into the Paranormal Romance genre as well as LGBT with the MM main characters who also happen to be wolf shifters. The steam level is high and blush-worthy, so definitely 18+. Now, check out that cover!

The Omega Date app strikes again in this second book in the series. This time, it pairs Rocco, a country boy and Alpha, with Kade, a sweet city boy and Omega. With what seems to be little in common, other than the fact that they're both wolf shifters, these two make a surprisingly sweet couple.

I absolutely loved both of these characters. Rocco is so sweet and genuine. He's determined to do what's right for his pack, but also wants to do what is right for himself. Finding that balance is the tricky part. Kade is kind and giving, and compliments Rocco's character perfectly.

Of course, it's not all wine and roses for this couple and we do get a bit of drama, but as I've come to expect from Nightshade, the ending was just perfect and left me smiling.

Sweet romance, great characters, a few chuckles along the way, some power hungry antagonists, and a happily ever after. What more could a reader ask for? I have no problem recommending this fun, sweet story.

If you enjoy reading Paranormal MM Romance, check out Odin Nightshade's Amazon Author Page. There's a couple of freebies there too!

Living Wild is also available on Amazon. The paperback has just released, so if you're looking for the ebook, keep an eye out. It should be out soon.

Shifter Clans Complete Series Box Set by Tiffany Shand

I love it when an author combines a series into one box set. That way, I have the whole thing in one place and can easily go back to it. Tiffany Shand's Shifter Clans Series is basically three novellas combined in one set to give you a novel-length story. And, I just realized that it's free right now on Amazon, so it's the perfect time to check it out!

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a fast-paced series, written in third person POV. It fits nicely into the Paranormal Romance genre, but also falls into Suspense and Fantasy/Urban Fantasy. I found nothing in this set that I would consider inappropriate for teens/young adults. In fact, with it's fast-pace, I would think that any teen who enjoys shifter stories would like this one. Check out that great cover! Isn't it lovely?

This series is non-stop action with magic, shifters, battles, and a bit of romance. I found it hard to put down from the very beginning and actually finished it rather quickly. All total, it's around 4 hours read time and worth every minute.

Christy and Ronan's story is one of forbidden love, magic, loss, a race to break a curse and save lives, and self-discovery. With no where to turn and not knowing who to trust, the hits just keep coming, trying to knock this pair down. I absolutely loved Ronan and his determination to do the right thing. And if you like a strong heroine, Christy certainly lives up to that title.

Ronan and Christy's love for each other is prevalent throughout the story, but it's also packed with suspense, action, and intrigue.

The Shifter Clan Series is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited. As I mentioned at the beginning, I just realized that the box set is free right now, so it's the perfect time to check this one out.

Bad Boys After Dark by Gabi Moore

What's better than curling up with a Gabi Moore dark romance? Curling up with ten of them! I read each of these books as they released, but couldn't resist sharing this deal with you! At the time of this post, the box set is 99¢!

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Each book in this box set is well-written and falls into the Romance genre. It is Gabi, so they are certainly high on steam and adult situations. While this author's tales don't always go in the direction you expect and they are dark and often twisted, you do get at least a happy for now, but usually a happily ever after ending.
*There are triggers in many of these tales.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of this author. I love dark, twisted tales and on that, Gabi always delivers. I won't go into each and every book in this set here because that could turn into a novel on it's own! Instead, I'll just give you the general idea of what you'll find in these pages.

This box set contains dark secrets, second chances, over the top hotness, redemption, revenge, love, lust, and hope - and that's just to name a few. We get everything from mafia romance to dominant/submissive to ex military hotties and even a group of strangers shipwrecked on an island. And I'll let you in on a little secret - while I've enjoyed every single book in this set and they're all great in their own right, my personal favorite is Heart of Darkness. (Shhh)

At only 99¢ for this set, it's a steal and one I would highly recommend. And just so you know, even though I read most of these as advanced reader copies, I bought the set! Too hard to resist having them all in one place to go back to anytime I'm in the mood for a dark, panty-melting romance!

I didn't start this blog to endorse one author over another, or to push my personal preferences on anyone. The purpose of the blog was to share my love of reading and give my honest opinion of what I've read and while I've been nothing short of honest in what I've said about the stories in this set, I couldn't resist sharing the deal on this one.

Bad Boys After Dark is available at Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited. Check it out, you won't be sorry!

Thanks for joining me! My current read is a shifter box set that shaping up to be an action-packed page turner.

Watching You by Gretta Mulrooney

Ever finish a mystery and find yourself thinking 'Wait, what?' and then go flipping back through the pages, looking for clues that lead to what you've just read? That's where I found myself with my latest read, Watching You by Gretta Mulrooney.

Momma Says 3 out 5 stars
Watching You is well-written in third person POV. It does fall into the Crime Mystery genre, although I would consider it more a Crime Drama for the most part. Other than the occasional bit of language, I found nothing that would be inappropriate for any age.
*Review copy courtesy of NetGalley.

As I said, Watching You is well-written and the scenes are quite descriptive, but the pace is almost agonizingly slow in the first half of the book. There is a mystery to solve, but other than the creepy emails and thoughts of the Watcher, it seemed like a lot of random conversations that led nowhere.

The pace does start to pick up some a little more than half-way through the book, and things gradually start to come together - and I do mean gradually. The problem is it was just a little too late at that point.

For me, the appeal of a mystery is trying to suss out the clues to solve it before the big reveal. A few of those clues along the way might've helped with making this reader want to keep reading rather than set it aside for a bit. That was the biggest issue, it was just entirely too easy to set it aside when I came to the end of a chapter.

We do get quite a bit about the main character's (Tyrone Swift) personal life. Sadly, I became more interested in where that was going than in the actual case he was working.

On a positive note, the pace does pick up and there is a fair bit of action in the last few chapters.

If you enjoy Crime Dramas, you may like this one a bit better than I did. It is available in ebook and paperback formats at Amazon, and it's listed in Kindle Unlimited. (Link below.)

Just Married by Van Cole

I was looking for a quick evening read that would be lighthearted and fun. I found it with Van Cole's newest release, Just Married.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just Married is a fast-paced, easy read, written in first person POV with the story being told by main character, Nathan. It fits very well into the Romantic Comedy genre, as well as LGBT (MM romance). It's also a Sports Romance and there is some talk and actual game play. There is a bit of steam and adult situations, so I'd recommend 18+.

I've read a few of Van Cole's books and I have to say that I've quite enjoyed watching the writing progress with each book. This one, with it's hilarious situations, has to be my favorite so far.

Just Married is a fast-paced tale of about an hour and half total read time. That time is packed full of laugh out loud moments as poor Nathan finds himself in one insane situation after another.

The only drawback for me was that I kept wondering why Milo never had to explain any of his actions, especially one scene in particular with some pink underwear and a wand. (Sorry, that's all you get! You'll have to read it to find out more.)

Overall, Just Married is a fun story and I look forward to more of this from Van Cole.

Just Married is available at Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited, here.

Den by Randall Allen Dunn

Ever watch a thriller and yell at the characters on the screen? "Don't go in there! He's right behind you! Run!" That kind of thing. Much to my family's annoyance, that was exactly what happened while I was reading the Action Thriller, Den by Randall Allen Dunn.

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Den is well-written in first person POV with the story being told by main character, Amy. It fits perfectly into the Action Thriller genre, as well as Suspense and Mystery Thriller. No doubt about it, it is most definitely a Thriller. Amy is a college student and while there are some adult situations mentioned, I found nothing that would be inappropriate for an older teen. In fact, the story would be perfect for older teens and young adults. Of course, that didn't keep this, ahem, older adult from enjoying it!😀 And check out that cover! That alone caught my eye!

I love a good thriller, but to be honest, I rarely find one that delivers on the thrills. So, it has become my habit to not expect too much when I start reading one. Den not only exceeded my expectations, it blew me away! My opener was no exaggeration, I found myself literally yelling at Amy throughout this nail-biter.

Let's face it, I'm not the only one who finds something creepy about the whole idea of even being in a closed amusement park in the wee hours of the night. Add in a handful of crazies that are determined to catch you for their own nefarious reasons and you can't avoid being at least creeped out.

Amy is in the game of her life as she races through the park, trying to outwit more than one determined pursuer. Armed with only a knife and night-vision goggles, she has her work cut out for her.

Den delivers everything that a good thriller should. It's packed with heart-racing, can't catch your breath action, suspense as you try to puzzle out who, if anyone, can be trusted, and twists that this reader did not see coming. Dunn's writing style and fast-paced story pulled me in and didn't let go. I'm not even sure I took a breath until the last chapter!

If you enjoy thrillers, this is one that you won't want to miss. To sum it up in one sentence - If this were a movie, I'd go see it!

Den is available in ebook and paperback formats at Amazon. It's also listed in Kindle Unlimited. "
You can also find the paperback at Barnes & Noble. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

Clawed by Kym Dillon

It's gray and gloomy here in rural Kentucky today with lots of rain - basically, a perfect day for curling up in my favorite chair with a book. Today, I chose Kym Dillon's Clawed, book one in Were-Soldier Warriors series. If sexy panthers are your thing, you should enjoy this one.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars
Clawed is well-written in third person POV, the story is interesting, and the characters are engaging. It fits nicely into the Paranormal Romance genre, but also has suspense, intrigue, and plenty of action. There is quite a bit of steam along with adult situations, so certainly 18+. Check out that cover!

Suspense, intrigue, lots of action, life-threatening conditions, and fighting for their lives. Those are just a few of the things that kept the pages turning in this fast-paced story. Combine that with Jessica and Marcus' attraction for each other and some pretty steamy scenes and you've got a winner.

Jessica has a no-nonsense attitude that Marcus' quick wit and sense of humor chips away at, bit by bit. There's just something about a sexy man with a sharp wit! Add in the whole panther shifter part of his character and you can't help but fall in love with Marcus.

The only drawback for me was the promise of a happily ever after in the blurb. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say again, if you advertise it, deliver it. While the ending isn't a bad one, I certainly wouldn't call it a happily ever after. In fact, it ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I realize it's a series, but, like I said, call it what it is.

That being said, the story is a good one and well worth the read. It did hold my interest and I will be checking out the next book in the series.

Clawed is available at Amazon, here. If you enjoy shifters, you'll want to check this one out.

Thanks for joining me! It's still storming here, so back to my chair with a book - maybe an Action-Thriller this round?

Fifth Regret by Mary Abshire

If you're a fan of Paranormal Romance and Suspense and you haven't read Mary Abshire's work, you're missing out. I've been slowly, but surely pouring through her books and I've enjoyed them all, including Fifth Regret, the fifth book in her Heaven Sent series.

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars
Fifth Regret is well-written in third person POV. The series revolves around Andrew who has been sent back from Heaven to destroy demons and Emily, who helps him in his noble quest. (There is a bit more to it than that, but too much more would be a spoiler.) The book fits nicely into the Paranormal Romance genre, but it falls into the Mystery/Suspense genre as well. There is some steam between our characters, along with adult situations, so I'd say 18+ readers. Mary always gives the reader a bit of a hint on the cover of each book in this series, so I'll let you take a look and decide what this demon's profession is. 😈

Most of the books in this series can be read as standalones. The author does give enough of a recap so a new reader isn't completely lost, but you really need to read the fourth book, Fourth Fight, to get the full impact of what's going on at the beginning of this one. I have to add that I would highly recommend reading the series from the beginning. It would be a shame to miss any of the adventures that Andew and Emily embark on.

By this point in the series, I've grown an attachment to the main characters, Andrew and Emily. Each new demon brings a different kind of danger. This one is no different in that respect. The danger is always nail-biting, put you on the edge of your seat action.

Fifth Regret is a bit more emotional when it starts out with this pair being apart. Andrew and Emily have come to care about and rely on each other, and the depth of their feelings is made even more real in the way that each handles the separation.

The whole book is a journey that kept this reader turning pages and left me anxious to see what happens next for this couple and their quest for the next demon.

You can find Fifth Regret as well as the rest of the Heaven Sent series on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. I'm including the links here for your convenience.

One More Try by Felix Brooks & Andrea Dalling

We had a family get together today and we all know how... Umm... Fun, yeah, fun is the word I'm looking for😏, those can be. Sooo, when I made my escape, I curled up on the couch to read and relax for a bit. The newest book in the I'm Your Man series, One More Try, did the trick.

Momma Says 4 out 5 stars
One More Try is the third book in the I'm Your Man Series, by Felix Brooks and Andrea Dalling. The book is well-written in third person POV with engaging characters and an interesting story line. It's a quick read, only about an hour and a half read time, so it's perfect for losing yourself for a bit on a lazy afternoon. It fits well into the Romance genre and is MM with some steam, so 18+ and while it is part of a series, it works well as a stand alone.

The I'm Your Man series spans the various stages of the romance between Rhy and Mason. While they are the main characters in each book, there are no cliffhangers and a reader wouldn't have any problem following the story in any of the books. Although, I do recommend reading the whole series - it's just too sweet to miss any of it. Just in case you aren't familiar with the series, book one is Kissing a Fool and book two is Careless Whisper.

One More Try focuses on Rhy dealing with his family problems and figuring out his own life in connection to Mason. The feelings that these two have for each other are plain to see throughout the story and they are so sweet together. Rhy's journey is absolutely heartbreaking as he deals with intolerance from the people he should most be able to depend on, but he finds hope where he doesn't expect quite so much of it.

If you enjoy MM Romance with some great characters and even a sweet puppy, the whole series is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited. You can find One More Try here.

You can also check out the author's Amazon pages at the following links to check out their other work.

Mind Games by Gabi Moore

I had the distinct displeasure of spending the morning at the dentist's office, something that's right up at the top of my kicking and screaming, don't make me do that list. So, when I got home, I treated myself to curling up with Gabi Moore's newest release, Mind Games, book two in the Bad Boy with a Twist trilogy.

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars
Mind Games is remarkably written in first person POV, this time from main character, Dean's perspective. It fits nicely into the Romantic Suspense genre and this one certainly has plenty of intrigue. With adult situations and a high steam level, it's definitely an 18+ book.

Considering this is book two of a trilogy, I thought I'd show you both covers, just in case you missed my review of book one, Mindfuck. Hot, right?

While Nora tells us the story in book one, Mind Games is told by Dean. Gabi Moore steps out of the normal first person point of view box with this series by having her characters actually speak to the audience. And she does it beautifully. To give you an idea of what I mean, picture an intimate setting, just you and the character - maybe curled up in comfy chairs or sitting at a small table - you're the only two in the room and the character is telling you their story. You, of course, are riveted by all the sordid details, the depth of feeling, the motivations for their actions... See what I mean? It's that good!

We get a bit more intrigue in Mind Games as Nora and Dean's story continues. No details here - if you haven't had a chance to check out book one, I don't want to ruin it for you. So, I'll just say that yes, this is a romance, and it is dark and twisted, but it's also loaded with suspense and action. It's a tale of dominance and submission (but not always what or when you expect), betrayal. obsession, murder, lust, love, and even hope.

It's pretty easy to see that I'm a huge fan of this author. I've never met a Gabi Moore book that I didn't like, but she has truly outdone herself with this trilogy. If you've never had the pleasure of reading Gabi's work, now's the perfect time to start. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting book three!

Both books are available at Amazon, in paperback and ebook formats, and at Barnes & Noble in paperback. They're also listed in Kindle Unlimited. I'm including the links here for your convenience.

*I'm not sure why the paperback and ebook formats aren't listed together on Amazon, but then, it is Amazon, so here are both links for the books...

Wicked Game by L.K. Rigel

I suppose I'm on a bit of a supernatural kick today. I just finished the newest book in L.K. Rigel's Uncanny World series, Wicked Game, and it is certainly packed full of the supernatural!

Momma Says 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wicked Game is well-written in third person POV, the world building is excellent, and the characters are developed and engaging. Amazon has it listed under the Mystery, Thriller & Suspense genre and it does fit well in that category, but it would also fit nicely into the Urban Fantasy or even Paranormal genres. There is a bit of steam in this one along with some adult situations and violence, so I would say it falls into the 18+ range. Now, take a look at that cover! Isn't it gorgeous?

Wicked Game is the second book in Rigel's Uncanny World series, but can easily be read as a standalone. However, I would highly recommend reading the first book, Wild Things, and then this one. There are so many great characters in this series and it would be a shame to miss any of them.

This second book in the series is Phaedra's story, and yes, there is her romance with Rhys. The love story between these two is interesting in it's own right, but there is so much more to this tale. Phaedra's journey is one of learning not only who and what she is, but who she wants to be.

Both books in this series are packed full of mystery, intrigue, betrayal, loss, revenge, love, and hope. With enough twists to give a reader whiplash, Rigel spins a tale that kept me turning pages to see what would happen next.

I'll stop myself here before I start giving spoilers. This series is one that should be read spoiler-free, so none of the many surprises are revealed too soon.

If you enjoy shifters, witches, and vampires along with suspense and intrigue, you should certainly check out this series.

The Uncanny World series is available at Amazon (links below for your convenience) and is also listed on Kindle Unlimited.

You can also get both books in a bundle, here.

Now, I'm off to bed to hopefully catch some much needed zzz's before an early dentist appointment tomorrow. (Yuck!😝)

Too Wyrd by Sarah Buhrman

I was in the mood for Urban Fantasy and certainly found it with Sarah Buhrman's Too Wyrd, Book 1 in her Runespell series.

Momma Says 5 out 5 stars
Too Wyrd is wonderfully written in first person POV with main character, Nicola, telling her story. The story fits very nicely into the Urban Fantasy genre with magic, demons, and Norse mythology creating a fast-paced story that certainly held my interest. There is some strong language and a few suggestive lines and scenes, but I didn't find anything that I would feel uncomfortable with my teen reading. Honestly, they see worse on television than I found in this book. Check out that cover! It certainly fits the title...

Too Wyrd is Urban Fantasy at its finest. The story is captivating and the characters feel so real that they practically leap off the page. The story starts simply enough with a trip into the city to find Nicola's wayward step-sister quickly turns into a non-stop race to save the world.

Magic, demons, the Norse pantheon, a deadbeat ex, a very persistent detective, and some pretty amazing friends combine to make a heart racing tale that kept me turning pages into the wee hours of the night. The story is fast-paced and riveting with lots of action and characters that you'll love and some that you'll love to hate.

When I started reading this one, Sarah Buhrman was new to me and now I'm wondering how I missed this talented author. Rest assured, I won't be missing anymore, she'll be on my go-to list from now on, right up there with the likes of Jim Butcher. (Huge Dresden Files fan here!)

If you enjoy Urban Fantasy, be sure to check this one out. It's available in ebook and paperback format at Amazon, here. It's also listed on Kindle Unlimited. The paperback format is also available at Barnes & Noble, here.

Misbehave by Tia Siren

Is there anything sexier than a single dad who is utterly devoted to his toddler? Yes! A single dad who is also a Navy Seal and a hero! So, of course, I had to read Tia Siren's newest release, Misbehave: A Navy Seal Romance.

Momma Says: 4 out 5 stars
The book is written in first person, dual POV with chapters alternating back and forth between the two main characters. It is a full-length novel of about 80,000 words, and while there is instant attraction, it's not instalove - we get to see that grow as the book progresses. It fits nicely into the Military Romance genre and the steam level is high, so definitely 18+. And talk about steamy, check out that cover! If that doesn't make you want to Misbehave, nothing will!😈

One thing I can always count on with Tia Siren is that her books are fun reads that will leave me smiling and they are guaranteed to have some fan yourself steamy scenes included. Misbehave doesn't disappoint.

Cam is a decorated hero with a heartbreaking story of loss, but he doesn't let his loss prevent him from being the best dad he can be to baby girl, Emmy. He's cocky and self-assured except for when it comes to Katie, the Admiral's daughter.

Katie is a bit younger than Cam and a bit of a wild child, at least on the surface. She does tend to act out and say things to get attention, at times acting younger than her years, but I did enjoy seeing her mature as her feelings for Cam progressed.

The only drawback for me was the way this couple waffled in their relationship. At times, their reactions to things and disagreements felt more like two teenagers with hormones flaring than adults in a relationship, and it seemed their only solution to any problem was sex. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against make-up sex, but some problems take a bit more on the actual communication side of things.

That being said, we do get to see this couple mature in their relationship and find their footing. So, overall, I did enjoy the read. I particularly liked the Admiral and his roundabout way of getting a point across. Oh, and Owen, I loved Owen! His quick wit added a bit of humor to the story and I'd love to see the romance that tames him.

If you enjoy Military Romance, be sure to check out Misbehave on Amazon, here. It's available in ebook format and it's also listed on Kindle Unlimited. And if you aren't familiar with Tia Siren, check out her Amazon author page, here. (There's even a couple of freebies there.)

Mind*uck by Gabi Moore

I curled up in my chair this afternoon and decided to get a start on Gabi Moore's latest book. My plan was to read for an hour or so and then start dinner. Well, an hour after dinner should've been on the table, I was still in my chair and the hubs was ordering pizza. I absolutely couldn't put it down.

Momma Says: 5 out 5 stars
Mindfuck is wonderfully written in first person POV, but it's a bit out of the norm. The main character is actually talking to the audience. Picture and intimate setting, just you and Nora (the main character), and she's telling you her story. The book is listed as Romantic Suspense and fits well into the genre with an intriguing story line that keeps a reader guessing. If the title didn't already give it away, it's steamy and there are many situations that make this one 18+. It is Gabi Moore, after all! And check out that cover! If the fact that it's a Gabi Moore book and the blurb didn't make me want to read it, that cover would.

I've made no secret of the fact that I love a dark, twisted tale. That's one of the many reasons that I'm a fan of this author. I've never met a Gabi Moore book that didn't pull me in and keep me turning page after twisted page. So, it was not surprise that this one did the same, but I have to say, Gabi has outdone herself with this one - and it's not even done! I was absolutely riveted.

This is book one in a trilogy, so it does end in a cliffhanger. A fact that left me breathless when I read that last page! Any details would be spoilers and not only do I not do spoilers, but Mindfuck is one that you definitely need to read for yourself to get the full impact of it.

Nora's story is mind blowing, it's deliciously dark, oh so twisted, and kept me guessing right up to that last page when I was left with a gasp and an "Oh no, she did not just do that!" I found myself questioning every single thing that happened, trying to figure out what would happen next. Truth be told, I'm still reeling.

Mindfuck is available now in paperback format from Amazon and Barnes & Noble, so don't take my word for it, check it out, you won't be disappointed.

If you're unfamiliar with Gabi Moore and you like dark romance, check out her Amazon author page, here. I can easily recommend anything she's written!

Professor Naughty by Angel Lovecox

Tonight, I got the littles to bed and decided on a glass of wine and something naughty to read before my own bed called to me. Angel Lovecox's newest release, Professor Naughty was the way to go.

Momma's Rating: 4 out 5 stars
The book is written in third person POV and the story flows well. It is a fast-paced, easy read, easily finished in one sitting. The story is MM and fits nicely into the Romance genre. It is steamy and intended for 18+ audiences. And speaking of naughty, check out that cover and strategically placed title!

Professor Naughty is the second book in Angel Lovecox's Bareback University series, and it is a standalone. The story is a Professor/Student romance, so we get a bit of the taboo to spice things up.

The book is novella length, so the fact that while we know Seth is attracted to Tristan very early in the story, it's not the instalove that is so prevalent in books of this length. It is pretty quick love, but, hey, what do expect? It's a novella! And sometimes quick and naughty is just what we need after a long day! 😉

To be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about Tristan in the beginning of the story, but he quickly grew on me and I found myself liking this couple. Seth and Tristan are different enough that they compliment each other, making for an interesting pair.

While the book is a steamy romance, we get the added bonus of a conspiracy that's loaded with suspense, intrigue, betrayal, and a bit of race to save the one you love action. To go into further detail would spoil it, so you'll just have to read it to find out more. 😀

The only drawback was that I wish there were more to the story. I would've liked to have seen the conspiracy angle drawn out a bit, but other than that, I enjoyed the read and recommend it to anyone that enjoys the genre.

Professor Naughty is available for purchase at Amazon, here. All you have to do is one-click it and start reading!

Now, I'm off to see if I can catch some of those elusive zzz's.

Slapshot Series by Heather Myers

After my last less than stellar read, I wanted something fun. I read the second book in Heather Myers' Slapshot series a while back - actually before I started this blog - and have been meaning to check out the first book. So, that is just what I did. A little birdie tells me that book three is up for preorder now, so I thought I'd cover both books in the series here.

My Rating: 5 out 5 stars
The books are well-written and fun, with engaging characters and story lines. Both books in the series do work as standalones, but they do focus on the Newport Beach Seagulls hockey team, so you'll get to know the characters. The series fits nicely into the Sports Romance genre. There is some steam in both books, so certainly 18+. It should also be noted that physical and mental abuse is mentioned in Exes and Goals, for those with triggers.

Now for the fun stuff! Check out those covers!
*Note that Lip Locks & Blocked Shots is currently on preorder and I haven't read it yet - notice the yet - so this review is only for the first two in the series.

As mentioned, the series focuses on a hockey team and it's owners, staff, players... You see where this is going. While Myer's hot hockey players are ruthless on the ice, they prove to be something else entirely on a personal level.

Exes & Goals has Harper, new blogger for the team, and Zach, new to the team but not the sport. From the title, it's obvious that there is an ex involved to bring some drama into this couple's new romance, and Harper has some issues to work through regarding that ex. Zach is an all around great guy and more than happy to show Harper that not all guys are like her jerk of an ex boyfriend. This one does mention physical and mental abuse and that is always hard to read about, but the author handles it all very well in the way that Harper deals with it.

Black Eyes & Blue Lines has us focusing on Katella, party girl sister of the controlling owner of the team, and Negan, the team's newest acquisition. I did read this one first and had no trouble following the story, but I fell in love with the characters and had to read book one. Kat and Negan are great together, even if they don't know it. They butt heads at every opportunity and to anyone watching, it looks like they can't stand each other. But, you know what they say about that thin line between love and hate. Crossing that line makes for some fan yourself, steamy scenes in this one! Of course, there is a bit of drama by way of Katella's ex boyfriend who has returned to the team. Matt makes for the perfect protagonist, although, it's unclear, at first, if he's just being a jerk or if he wants Kat back.

Bonus points to Heather Myers for actually including game play in both books! You've all seen my rants about a book being labeled as something, but not living up to the label, well, this sports romance is exactly that. These are hockey players and we get to see them during game play. For those that don't care for the sport or don't know anything about it, don't worry, it's easy to follow what happens on the ice and you don't have to be a hockey fan to enjoy these tales!

Overall, I can easily recommend either of these books. The story lines are interesting and the characters are so easy to fall in love with. I've read the blurb for book three and can't wait to see if Seraphina finally gets her man (a bit of side story from the first two books). If you have Goodreads, you can add Lip Locks & Blocked Shots to your TBR list, here. I certainly have!

The Slapshot Series is available for purchase at Amazon. Just click on the titles for either of the first two in the series or the pre-order link for book three.
