For Love of Passion by Samantha Westlake

Last night, I got the littles to bed, put on my jammies, and curled up with Samantha Westlake's newest release in the Stone Brother's series, For Love of Passion. My thought was that I would read for a bit and then spend a leisurely Saturday finishing the book. Having already read the rest of the series, I should've known better. At around 3am I finished the book.

My Rating: 5 out 5 stars
The book is splendidly written in first person, dual POV with chapters going back and forth between our two main characters. The story flows very well and the characters are complex and interesting. The dialogue is witty and often quite humorous. The book fits nicely into the Romance genre and yes, there's steam, so certainly 18+. And of course, we get a bit of yummy on the cover!

Being a fan of Westlake's work, I expected a story I could get lost in and that is exactly what I got. The book is about Tanner, down and out aspiring author, and Helen, wealthy widow with a past and some pretty dark rumors following her. Tanner isn't actually a Stone Brother by blood, more family by association and proximity, and he certainly doesn't have any of their wealth. But (yes, of course, there's a but), Tanner proves that you don't have to be a blood relative to self-sabotage a relationship as epically as the rest of the men in this series.

Samantha Westlake's talent for making a reader feel things holds true in this fourth book in the Stone Brothers series. There are so many great moments to keep your emotions on high alert: you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get angry, you'll feel the characters' heartbreak and their elation, and of course, there are those steamy moments that will have you fanning yourself.

I love a bit of humor in a good story and this author has that in spades. Some hilarious situations and dialogue add levity to the story, and in today's world, we can all use a bit of that!

There were some absolutely perfect lines in this story that I'm itching to quote, but to do that would give spoilers, so you'll just have to check it out and see for yourself. Sorry, no spoilers here.😉

As I said, I've read the whole series and have loved all of the men in the Stone Brothers books, and Tanner is no exception. And the women they choose to love? They are equally delightful characters, each being exactly what these wayward men need in their lives.

While I would highly recommend reading the series in order, each story is compelling and well worth the read, all four books do work as standalones. So, if you enjoy an engaging romance with some sexy and a bit of funny, you can find the entire series on Amazon, here. For Love of Passion can be found here. The books are also listed on Kindle Unlimited, so if you subscribe, add them to your list, you won't be sorry.

I, for one, will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Here are those links one more time for your convenience.
