This newest addition to the series is a bit different than most of the fated mates stories from this author. In the beginning, I thought we were going to get other woman drama, and to an extent, I suppose that's accurate. But not exactly. Nicholas isn't jumping into this marriage with happy ever afters in his heart or mind, at least not the romantic kind. Then we have our heroine, Beryl, who gets a crash course in shifter politics as she deals with a strong attraction that brings danger with it. I love that Beryl gets to be the heroine in every sense of the word. The story is fast-paced and jam packed with action, danger, and a sweet and sexy romance. This series is quickly becoming a go-to for quick, bedtime reads that send you off to dreamland with a smile.
